About Me
My name is Henry Gallego and I grew up in Westchester, New York. I was raised by my Ecuadorian parents along with my older brother. My interest in film and journalism began in high school. I took a course on film and literature which opened my eyes to a world of cinema outside just the Hollywood blockbuster. I would frequent online news sites covering topics that interested me such as films, T.V. video games, current events, etc. Reviews were what I enjoyed reading the most and encouraged me to start writing my own revies on the social media platform Letterboxd, a site dedicated to film reviews. I would continue following this interest into college as I studied Journalism and Film.

I've been attending SUNY Albany since 2018 and am set to graduate in the spring of 2022. My experience in school has been quite turbulent these past few years. The Covid-19 pandemic began during my sophomore year. I had adjusted to a new independent lifestyle at my university, but I now had to re-adjust to living at home with online classes. I successfully adapted to this drastic change, I kept my grades high and maintained a strong work ethic. I was able to make the most of a bad situation. The state of our country and the Covid-19 pandemic is still rather turbulent, but I enter it with full confidence in my abilities.
Content Creation
Following my return back home I decided a good use of my time would be to start producing content on YouTube, something I've always thought about doing. I began by covering films that I enjoyed, I explore their history and analyzed them scene by scene. However, my channel started to gain a lot of traction following the release of a video called "The Film Myth/Urban Legend Iceberg." In the video, I explored various urban legends from film history from well-known to obscure stories. The video sits at around 800k+ and helped my channel become eligible for monetization.
I've learned a lot from my online venture. I have experience in video editing, audio recording, and script writing. I hope to further adapt these skills into a professional setting.
